Mr, Chem Dry offers a variety of services in connection with the basic clean of your carpets. These services will enhance the carpet cleaning process. These are as follows:
Pretreatment: a mild solvant mixed with a traffic lane remover that will break down the oils dirt and overall staining and make it possible to remove more discoloration.
Disinfectant: A hospital grade disinfectant desingened to kill germs bacteria remove odors from foods, drinks, mildew or mold along with from pets. It will also eliminate most allergens in the carpet as well. IT will not remove heavy duty urine odors though. (are purt solution does).
Protectant: Our protectant is one of the highest rated carpet protectors designed to seal the fibers of your carpet and prevent spills from color becoming permanent. In the long run it will make it easier to remove spots and keep your carpets cleaner, longer. You may find that the traffic line doesn’t appear as quick and when spills do happen they don’t leave permanent color damage.
Olefin Berbers and after-cleaning challenges
Many cleaners have a love/hate relationship with olefin Berber carpet.
We love how it cleans up, but hate the problems we can have after cleaning.
If you use the same procedures and chemistry to clean olefin Berber, nylon Berber and wool Berber, you could end up with problems.
Berber is a style of carpet that originally was the name of wool loop carpet made in England. Today, it’s the name for Berber “style” carpet that is one of several different face yarns.
Olefin is a very common fiber of choice for Berber styles.
Olefin is practically non-absorbent — making it naturally stain resistant — as it only absorbs one-tenth of one percent of its weight in moisture.
This causes problems, however, with typical spotting.
A spill on olefin, because it is almost non-absorbent, can run down to the lower part of the fiber or the backing without being absorbed by the fiber.
Nylon or wool, unlike olefin, will absorb much of the substance before it reaches the backing.
This is not to be confused with dry particulate soil that must be vacuumed and that can work its way down into any carpet pile.
The spills have now created unseen stains that can be sitting below the surface waiting to come to the top.
Some migrated below the surface during the original staining, while others were on the surface and were wiped off or worn off with vacuuming or foot traffic.
When we clean using hot water extraction, the olefin loops are moistened.
This moisture provides a route to the surface for the “slush” that has been created by mixing our water with the unseen spill material in the carpet.
Olefin itself doesn’t wick the soil, but the moisture that is sitting on the outside of the fiber provides a great ride to the top for the spilled material.
The surface soils have cleaned off beautifully, while the sub-surface materials are on their way up to the surface to cause the cleaner heartache.
Just as they weren’t absorbed on the way down, they’re also not absorbed on the way back up.
Dog hair carpet cleaning
I recently went into a home of a friend who has a dog and of course the dog wanted to see the visitors. After petting the dog for only one minute the dog was put down stairs and out of site. However the damage was done. my black jacket was full of dog hair that was very apperant on a black surface. I looked at the amount of hair that accumulated in only a minute and wonder how much hair has built up on their carpets, upholstery and in their air ducts. Most people seem to think when you are getting your carpets cleaned, that you should receive every service possible to get your carpets as clean as possible. SORRY, this is not the case. When scheduling a carpet cleaning appointment you will speak with a customer service representative. This person will give you an “estimate” based on the information they receive from you (customer). They will ask such things as if your carpets are often cleaned or if there is a specific reason for cleaning them at this time, such as did you have a spill, or your dog tracked in dirt, or maybe urinated on the carpet. Your carpets can be cleaned for certain reasons and certain reason need certain solutions to correct that particular problem. If your carpets havent been cleaned in over a year it has had time to collect a significant amount of dirt in them. If your dog hars urinated in the carpets, there are certain chemicals it needs to be treated with to totally correct the problem. Such things as these cost an additional charge because it is more time on the technicians part to mix and apply these chemicals and also because these also come at a cost to the company. Take into consideration that not everything can be included and done at no cost.
Rental Home Utah Carpet Cleaning
When moving into a newer or different home it might be time to do a heavy cleaning of the carpets. Preivious pets in the home are a concern because of the hair left behind and possible damage to the carpets due to urine and other bodily substances. Other problems could be from food, drink stains and even the girls bedroom where makeup was spilled in numerous places. I recently cleaned for a person in Kaysville where she was moving into a new home and she had all of these problems. There was pet spots in a number of rooms and dog hair throughout. There was a certain room with multiple spots of makeup and even nail polish that was spilled on the carpet. Surprisingly the nail polish was easier to remove than some of the other makeup. We did have to use some heavy treatments for the pet urine removal but using a strong disinfectants we removed the odors from the dog. We made a huge improvement on the traffic areas and though we had to spend a lot of time and extra cleaning the customer couldn’t have been happier. Not every spot came up but the wow what a difference. The customer was so happy that we immediately received a great and positive customer survey report.
