Choosing to protect your fibers

Its not too tough to understand what a wear pattern is, we have all seen them in the high traffic areas in our homes. But to know what it is that causes them is not as easy as you might think. First you must understand that soil is nothing more then tiny little rough grindy rocks. Now when you have this soil on the bottom of your shoe and you walk on the hall carpet or other high traffic area like your stairs. This small rough soil scratches your carpet fiber. and just like anything else when scratched it is scars. In this case the scratch effects how light bounces of the fiber and this is what causes a wear pattern. Now if I told you protecting your carpet and a good vacuuming on a regular basis could prevent this wear pattern you would surley say yes please re- apply the protector.

Professional cleaning vs. That cheap grocery store “rental machine”

I had a customer call the other day asking if I could fix her $3000.00 silk wing tip chair. Her husband said why pay someone when I could take care of it myself. DIY + fine natural fabrics = a bleeding dyeing mess. I showed her how easy it was to clean the other matching wing tip chair. We are working on the one that has bled all so horribly. I will keep you posted as to our success.

The right equipment for the job

I have been in the cleaning industry for many years, over these years I have used some pretty questionable looking equipment to get the job done. I now work for Mr.Chem-dry and I love that all of the equipment I use now is top of the line. Our famous saying ” Cleaner, Healthier, Drier comes at a cost, But it is well worth it. We use less moisture keeping many of those wicking spots gone for good. Less moisture also allows the customer to get back to life as it was before we cleaned much quicker than our competittors.

The stain that know other cleaner could fix.

I had a customer tell me the other day, “No you dont need to try and clean that stain” As two other cleaners had tried before, and it always goes away and then comes back later as it dries. I explained to her the difference between Mr. Chem-dry and the other soak and suck cleaners is the amount of water used. She was pleasantly surprised to learn the stain in question was a base stain that could be fixed by using very little moisture on this so called stain. An easy fix to a real anoying spot.

a little chattter goes a long way

As we were on a cleaning appointment for a return customer kathy walker, I found myself complimenting her landscape. And it quickly turned our conversation to her nieghbors yard, Kathy then remembered her neighbor was asking who she used to clean her carpet and tile. This lead to an estimate for her neighbor who wanted carpet cleaning, tile cleaning, as well as air duct cleaning. Go figure her husband also happens to be the regional facilities Mgr for Starbucks. This could very well turn into a national account for us.
